What Are Termites?

Termites are often called the "silent destroyer" because they may be secretly hiding and thriving in your home or yard without any immediate signs of damage. All termites consume cellulose-based plant materials. Unfortunately, all homes, regardless of their construction type, can provide cellulose food for termite infestation.

Termites are detritivores, or detritus feeders. They feed on dead plants and trees as well as dead parts of living trees, including wood and wood in the soil. A termite’s mouth is capable of tearing pieces of woody material. This ability is what causes concern in human dwellings: while termite workers only measure approximately 1 cm to a few millimeters in length, their feeding habits are capable of causing costly damage to property. House foundations, furniture, shelves and even books are all possible feeding sites for termites.

Subterranean termite homes are usually formed in soil. Within these mounds, termites build elaborate tunnel systems and mud tunnels through which they access above-ground food sources.

When a colony has matured, winged, swarming termites can be seen around windows and doors. In thsi region they swarm in the spring of the year. Winged termites are highly attracted to sources of light and are most active in springtime. After mating, these termites locate a new breeding site and create another colony, spreading infestations throughout multiple locations in the case of drywood termites.

America’s #1 Termite Defense Product

Termidor® termiticide/insecticide is a professional termite defense product effective on native subterranean termites, Formosan termites, and drywood termites. It utilizes an advanced nonrepellent, or “undetectable,” liquid technology that termites cannot see, smell, taste, or avoid. Instead, they contact, ingest, and share Termidor, completely unaware that doing so will inevitably kill them.

Unparalleled Performance

In numerous trials across the United States and around the world, Termidor has proven consistently effective at eliminating termites in structures and at preventing future infestations and devastating damage.

Ongoing field trials by the United States Department of Agriculture-Forest Service show no signs of termite damage in concrete slab field test plots treated at labeled rates with Termidor® termiticide/insecticide for more than 15 years after treatment-results no other currently available termite control products can match.

Termidor Certified Professionals have successfully protected over 4 million U.S. homes with Termidor since it was introduced in 2000. Applied according to label directions, Termidor starts working immediately and has provided 100% control of infesting termites in three months or less after treatment.

Advance® Termite Bait System

Expect More Efficacy. Expect More Customer Satisfaction.

The industry’s first generation bait systems brought a pioneering concept to the termite control market. They presented a new way to control termite colonies that was more effective and less invasive combined with a business model that significantly raised the value of termite control at the homeowner level. However, it soon became apparent that those first generation bait systems had a variety of challenges. These challenges affected their speed of control, ease of serviceability, customer satisfaction and most importantly created a non-invasive business model for most PMPs.

Now, with the Advance Termite Bait System, BASF offers a new generation bait system that addresses the challenges presented by first generation baits–effectively making our bait system a superior option to other of termite bait systems.

Now there are no more excuses. While previous bait systems had challenges that resulted in slow or poor performance, PMPs across the country are experiencing hits as quickly as 15-45 days and fast colony elimination with the Advance Termite Bait System. So you can now combine the efficacy of newer non-repellant liquids with the customer satisfaction and selling advantages of a bait system. It’s truly the best of both worlds.

These are the best bait stations available today, using the most up to date materials and baits.  Installing these around your home and with proper monitoring will help prevent any termite problems with your home. These are a excellent alternative to a liquid treatment, they do not require drilling, trenching etc to your home.
